A Mom wants to help…

A few days before Christmas, Michelle learned that a lump in her breast was malignant. After consultations with numerous physicians, she scheduled aggressive surgery – followed by chemotherapy – for early March. Her mother, Joyce, knew that recovery would be difficult. With that in mind, she wanted to reach out to the community for prayers of support and words of encouragement for her daughter.

A Special Kind of Prayer Chain…

After learning about VoiceQuilt, Joyce recruited friends and family to leave voice messages that would sustain Michelle through the difficult months ahead. Using VoiceQuilt's toll-free telephone number, caring souls called by the dozens. Friends put Michelle's name on prayer lists across the country, and people who had never even met Michelle left prayers, inspirational quotes and scripture readings.

Michelle is recovering well…

Joyce downloaded some of the messages as a VoiceQuilt mp3 and played them for Michelle prior to surgery. After returning home from the hospital, Joyce gave Michelle a beautiful keepsake box that played all of the voice-based prayers, music and encouraging words.

Michelle tells us that she is healing well and plans to use the keepsake to store her many get-well cards and e-mails.
