We're big fans of Operation Homefront Georgia!

Operation Homefront is an amazing non-profit that provides emergency assistance to military service members and their families. Serving all branches of the military, Operation Homefront was created to respond to the growing needs of military families with loved ones deployed to Iraq and the Middle East.

Operation Homefront Georgia, VoiceQuilt’s local chapter, is one of the most efficient non-profit organizations in the United States. With more than 13 military installations in the state, the demands on their services have been extensive. That’s where Radio WGST and VoiceQuilt are trying to help.

Tomorrow, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Pearl harbor, radio station WGST will kick off a telethon for Operation Homefront Georgia. As part of this effort, WGST and VoiceQuilt will ask donors to record thank-you messages and holiday greetings for our nation’s armed forces. VoiceQuilt will make a $1 donation per call and will share highlights of the ‘Thank the Troops’ messages  here.

At VoiceQuilt, we believe that voices convey emotion, personality and meaning in ways that images and text cannot. We’re proud to partner with WGST, Operation Homefront and the community to make it easy to say “We appreciate you!”  in a heartfelt way.  Imagine these messages being played for deployed troops as they enjoy a holiday meal. What a terrific way to “bring a little bit of home” to the troops this holiday season!
