NCL, Inc. Moms And Daughters Deliver Thank-you’s to The Military — In Their Own Voice.
Yesterday, more than 800 National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) members assembled in Palo Alto to assemble entertainment “care packages” for the troops. In preparation for the event, NCL moms and daughters recorded voice message thank-you’s to go along with the care packages. Then, Carolyn Doles, member and leader of NCL’s Saratoga Los Gatos Chapter in California, created an iMovie using the thank-you voice messages as the soundtrack.
Charlotte McFadden, NCL, Inc. Region 4/District 2 Coordinator shared the following words with me.
”VoiceQuilt was a very easy, intuitive way for the girls and their mothers to express themselves in the communication mode they are most comfortable with….the telephone! This has been a huge success! Many girls phoned in and left wonderful messages of endearing words and support for the troops of Operation Care and Comfort.”
The web site link for the iMovie has been printed on thank-you cards that will be delivered to military personnel in combat zones – along with the care packages – by Operation Care and Comfort.
We’re delighted to be associated with this endeavor – and we’re touched by how many endearing and heartwarming voice messages NCL Moms and Daughters recorded. (In fact, the soldiers received so many voice messages that the NCL, Inc. iMovie initially exceeded YouTube’s size limits!)
