Thanksgiving is a time for bringing out cherished family recipes, made with love and passed down for generations. The lucky cooks learn at the knee of parents or grandparents, sharing special moments in the kitchen. But what if there’s a broken link in the chain?
This was the situation facing cousins Ellin and Catherine. Ellin's niece, Caroline, lost her mother at a young age. Because both Ellin and Catherine had created VoiceQuilt keepsakes before, they knew how family stories could honor Caroline's mother and keep treasured recipes intact for future generations.
The two cousins compiled special recipes, especially those that had been favorites of Caroline's mom. They filled the beautiful keepsake box with recipe cards and invited other family members to call the toll-free phone number with recipes and loving remembrances.
When Caroline opens her VoiceQuilt keepsake at Thanksgiving, she will hear loving stories about her mother – coupled with cooking tips and stories about family traditions. Ideally, she will someday add her own special meals to the collection, passing them on to her children.
